Life drawing lessons

After years of unrevealed and suffered desire, some months ago I made a present to myself: a real drawing course! (no online tutorials, no learning by your own: a real live course, finally XD).
The topic of the course was dynamic drawing of the human figure, a milestone for the drawing field. We had the possibility of practising with models for real nude drawing lessons.
First of all, we had to learn how to see the reality made of simple geometric structures, starting from common objets (books etc) and then the human face (trying to see it as a geometrical shape, in order to place its constituents like eyes, nose and ears).
The successive step was applying this concept to the entire human body, representing it as an assembling of cylinders and circles. Then, with this base as a first sketch, trying to add a softer and more human shape, with fast poses.sessions (5-15 minutes).

After this, first attempts to add also some shading were made, with longer poses (15-30 minutes), but then still practing with fast and gesture drawing.

Once supposed we had learnt how to master the human structure, the final work was assigned: starting from real and famous paintings representing complex poses, we had to redraw the scene keeping the pose, but seen from a different angulation. For this purpose, masterpieces of someone huge as Caravaggio were chosen as references (easy, no?). I tried my best, hope the result can be appreciated for the effort ^_^

I really enjoyed attending this course, held by the international comic author Saverio Tenuta, and hosted by Arts in Rome.
